Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA)

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is an independent body to regulate, oversee, and monitor food, drug, medical devices, as well as to set mandatory standard specifications thereof, whether they are imported or locally manufactured. SFDA Food Certification scheme is to ensure safety and security of food and feed, safety and security of pesticides and to ease commercial traffic flow while maintaining safety of food and reinforcement of consumers and client’s confidence in food control authority. Also to Ensure safety of cosmetic products and provide drug information from trusted source to the public or healthcare providers who need such information.

GEO-CHEM is now approved Certification body by SFDA to provide COC (Certificate of Conformity) services for below referred product categories.

• Food and agricultural products
• Cosmetics, perfumery, and personal care products

• Receipt of Application (RFC DOC)
• Application and Documents Review
• Sampling and testing in accredited laboratory.
• Inspection, Container Loading Supervision, and sealing
• Evaluation and Review of Inspection Report, Labelling marking. Shelf life and Test reports
• Issuance of Certificate of Conformity (COC)

• Application form or RFC (Request for Certification) DOC (Declaration of Conformity)
• Commercial license of importer wherever applicable.
• Shipment Documents (Commercial invoice, Packing list, Certificate of origin, Bill of Lading or AWB etc)
• Product documents (Test reports from accredited laboratory, Product / packaging Labelling marking Photos)
• Other Documents if applicable (SFDA registration number, Health certificate, Phytosanitary certificate, Import permit, Halal shipment/slaughter certificate, Halal certificate, Halal declaration, ingredient list for Cosmetics etc.)
